Habakkuk 1-3

Have you ever had questions about why the world around you is the way it is? Wondering why it seems like evil is prevailing everywhere you turn? These were some of the same thoughts the prophet Habakkuk had. We learned from previous lessons that the Babylonians were utilized by God to exact His judgment on Judah for their disobedience and idolatry. Habakkuk was a little confused by it though. He’s looking like “Lord, how you gone use these wicked people to teach us a lesson when we are morally better than they are!??” The Babylonians had a reputation for being cruel, merciless, and wicked. I’m talking about putting belt to tail anytime they went to conquer a nation. They were known for detestable practices and their pagan worship. So how could a nation like that be used to fulfill God’s righteous judgment on His people? The thing is, the Lord can use anyone… AND I DO MEAN ANYONE for His divine purpose and will. In these chapters we gain a clearer understanding of that. We even see that just because it looks like the wicked are winning right now, that doesn’t mean that they are in the clear. Every dog has its day, but eventually that day will come to an end. And so would the Babylonians. At this point you know how it goes, see the link below for a full recap of the book of Habakkuk. :-)
